Dr. Elias Ayrey is a remote sensing scientist and forest carbon offset expert. He specializes in using remote sensing (satellite imagery, LiDAR, radar, etc…) to measure things like forest carbon content and deforestation. He uses modern artificial intelligence techniques such as deep learning to quantify forest ecosystems.

On the policy side, he has considerable expertise in the forest carbon world, and is familiar with most forest carbon offsetting protocols. He hopes to use his remote sensing and data science expertise to improve these protocols and better track and protect the world’s forests.
